My Story
I’ve always been drawn to stories—whether through comics, photography, or filmmaking. It all started in 1996 when a Batman comic landed in my hands. Ten-year-old me was hooked. Soon, I was drawing my own comic books and collecting them obsessively (a habit that continues to this day).
At 16, I picked up my first digital camera and started capturing anything and everything. By 21, I co-founded JAZAM!, a German comic book anthology that went on to win multiple awards. While I initially planned to study art, I ended up diving into political science and German literature instead, training to be a teacher. But no matter what I did, my camera and comics were always with me.
For years, photography remained a passion project. I shot a few weddings for friends but never saw it as more than a fun side gig. Then, in 2019, everything changed. On a holiday, I started experimenting with filmmaking (much to the dismay of my camera-shy friends). That’s when my narrative brain kicked in, and I realized how much I loved crafting stories through video.
While researching new cameras, I stumbled across wedding films and the more I watched, the more fascinated I became.
In 2022, I filmed my first wedding for two friends—and did everything wrong. I delivered a film that didn’t fit the couple at all. But at one point, it clicked. I redid the film, used audio their friends had recorded, and realized how powerful storytelling in films can be when it truly matches the couple and their love. Suddenly, I was hooked.
I expanded my own business in Germany, balancing teaching not only with photography but also with filmmaking. But when my Australian wife and I (along with our little daughter) decided to move to Australia in 2025, I knew it was time to go all in.
Now, I’m based in Brisbane, embracing the Aussie way of life—sweating through the summers, sampling every craft beer I can find, and trying (but failing) to love Vegemite. Teaching was a huge part of my life, but I needed a creative outlet that truly excited me. Wedding filmmaking gives me exactly that—the chance to tell real stories in a way that feels authentic and lasting.
So here I am, ready to capture your story. Let’s make something special together.
