At the family farm in Mt Larcom, this wedding was never just about the day itself. It was about the ground it stood on.

Bryson's dad's property carries decades of history, and Jayde and Bryson chose it on purpose. What started as talk of eloping turned into something else once they pictured saying their vows on the land that shaped one of them. Giving up the simplicity of running away together for the weight and warmth of family history, that choice became the heart of the film.

What mattered to me making their film is that it reflects that choice, in the story, and in the way it looks. The farm isn't just a backdrop, it's part of it, and I leaned into that with the colour and mood too, warm, worn, a little nostalgic, like the place itself.

It all feels very them: grounded, unpretentious, and rooted, in the most literal sense.

So this film is really about more than one wedding day. It's about choosing roots over a runaway wedding, and building a new beginning on ground that already holds so much history.
