At Maleny Manor, it felt really clear that this wedding was never just about Elicia and Matt. It was about the people around them too. Their friends and family mean so much to them, and the whole day felt like a celebration of not just the love they found at the end of high school, but also the community that has been part of their story ever since.

What was important for me creating their film is that it reflects both sides of that. It shows the importance of friends and family, but also the way their relationship grew. From secretly texting as high school sweethearts to becoming best friends, and eventually the kind of couple their friends describe as real love. It all feels very them: grounded, warm, fun, and deeply connected.

We also filmed a Love Story Session on the beach, one of their favourite places. That gave the film another layer and opened up space for reflections on their relationship and the wedding, while showing a little more of their world outside the wedding day itself.

So this film is really about more than one day. It’s about young love that lasted, friendship at the core of a relationship, and the people who made that love feel even bigger.
