Kellie & Max, an Australian and a German met on a beach in Bali. Their scooter ride turned into a love story, and they’ve been choosing each other across Australia and Germany ever since.
They met on Scooter and wanted to ride their motorbikes in the film to integrate this core memory, but they didn't want to be pulled away from their wedding for long. So we planned a Love Story Session on a separate day, I filmed them riding, and made that the main part of the film.
The day itself was small and personal, with their closest friends in an old fortress in Germany, but there was more going on behind the scenes too. Kellie's family couldn't travel from Australia, so we added in some short clips from home. Her grandmother died not long after the wedding, and now Kellie has her voice forever.
So, this is a big film with a lot of topics: It's about distance, family, but also the little things in between. A scooter trip can change your life. This film shows how.
